Xiaomi has recently announced that the company will be hosting a launch event on April 25 in China and while there has been a lot of debates over which device the Chinese maker is going to launch, it seems that after launching the Mi Mix 2S which was targeted towards premium buyers, Xiaomi might be shifting its focus back to its bread and butter, which is budget smartphone segment. While Xiaomi has already sent out invited for the April 25 event in China, through its official Weibo account, the company has posted a teaser confirming a press conference at the Wuhan University, which is alma mater of Lei Jun, the company’s CEO.
The teaser, however, does not reveal details about the smartphone that Xiaomi is going to launch. That said, it is rumored that the company is going to launch a Mi-series smartphone on April 25. Now, it is no coincidence that the rumors related to the Xiaomi Mi A2 / Mi 6X are intensifying at the same time when Xiaomi is about to host a launch event and there’s a good chance that the this is what the company plans to unveil at the launch event.
