Mohammed Shami was pummelled by Andre Russell on the pitch and then by fans on social media as they trolled the bowler, who was hit for six massive sixes by the West Indian. Kolkata recorded a comfortable win by 71 runs as the Delhi batting lineup crumbled in the second innings.
The Kolkata Knight Riders completed a dominant win over the Delhi Daredevils at home on Monday, dismissing the away side for a paltry 129 in the second innings after amassing a massive score of 200/9 in the first. Nitish Rana and Andre Russell were the star for KKR with the bat, with the latter scoring a quick-fire 41 off just 12 balls, which featured six massive sixes. Incidentally, all six sixes came at the expense of Indian bowler Mohammed Shami, who ended with dismal figures of 4-0-53-1.
Russell showed no mercy to Shami, smacking him deep into the stands, as Delhi skipper Gautam Gambhir looked on in despair. Shami, who has had a rough last few months on the personal front, was the laughing stock of fans on social media, who were quick to whip up witticisms at the bowler’s expense.
