Bengaluru/Hubballi: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) entrusted with the responsibility to solve the Gauri Lankesh murder case has arrested two more suspects from Hubballi on July 22. With this, the total number of persons arrested in the sensational case has risen to 10.
SIT arrested Ganesh Viskin and Amit Ramachandra Baddi, both residents of Banashankari Temple Road in Hubballi. They were produced before the 3rd AMC today (July 23).
According to reports, the SIT has charged the accused with possession of weapons and supplying these illegal weapons to the murderers of journalist Gauri Lankesh in Bengaluru. The sleuths also confiscated weapons from the accused during the arrest, claimed sources.
The latest arrests were made only three days after 8th accused, Mohan Nayak was arrested from Sullia. Nayak is accused of arranging a house for Parashuram Waghmore, who allegedly killed Lankesh from a close range.
Waghmore acquitted in an old case
Meanwhile, Parashuram Waghmore was acquitted in another case by the Vijayapura District Court on Monday, July 23. He was accused of raising Pakistani flag at Sindhagi six years ago.
