Bengaluru: Kendriya Vidyalayas, which are run by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatanam (KVS) having CBSE syllabus are the preferred choice of majority of the parents. Thanks to the quality education imparted in these schools, besides implementation of innovative teaching methodology. now the state government wants to join hands with the KVS to convert its own Adarsha Vidyalaya schools at par with these schools.All started with students of these Adarsha Vidyalaya schools registering an impressive 93% pass percentage in the recently announced SSLC examination results. Presently, the state government is running 74 Adarsha Vidyalaya schools in Educationally Backward Blocks (ECBs) under the financial assistance of the Central government.
According to the education department officials, following the impressive performance of the students of Adarsha Vidyalaya schools, the department has decided to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KVS over training the teachers of these schools. “Presently these schools have classes between Std VI and X in English medium affiliated to state syllabus. To further improve the standard of education imparted in these schools we have decided to join hands
with KVS. The KVS will train the teachers in innovating teaching methodology. We want to make these schools first choice of all students,” he said.
Meanwhile, according to the officials, already these schools have become most sought schools in the state with huge number of applications. ‘Admissions are done based on the performance of the students in the admission test. This shows that we are able to ensure quality in education and other facilities,” he explained.
