Bengaluru: After getting a hint that Bengaluru may slip down in the list of clean cities of the country, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is all set to begin ‘Clean Bengaluru’ campaign. The corporation has also sought support from the public in this regard.
The Union Urban Development Department has already begun ‘Swaccha Sarvekshan’ survey in the city. The BBMP officials, who should have shown special interest in getting good ranking in the listing, didn’t do the needful. Further, since the officials did not even inform people about the survey, the general public was unaware of the app that was available for them to comment about status of cleanliness in the city.
The BBMP will organize ‘Clean Bengaluru’ campaign from February 24 to March 4 and in this regard, the BBMP has invited Resident Welfare Associations (RWA), Self-help Groups, volunteers, and the public to be a part of the campaign.
Various steps are being taken to encourage public to participate in the campaign. Various instruments for the cleaning process, tractors, machinery, JCB, pull cart, semi-skilled labourers, construction materials will be provided by the corporation for the participants of the campaign. It will also distribute protective materials to them.
