Cauvery verdict: tight security along TN-Karnataka border

With the Supreme Court verdict on the Caurvery water sharing row expected shortly on Friday, February 16, 2018, tight security arrangements are in place on the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka inter-state border at Attibele near Hosur since the early hours of Friday.

All the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) and State Express Transport Corporation buses proceeding to Karnataka via Salem, Krishnagiri were terminated at Hosur.

The TNSTC operated town buses from Hosur upto Attibele since the early morning. Commuters proceeding to Bengaluru had to walk for about half-a-km distance to cross the border and catch the KSRTC buses.

However, the early morning KSRTC services from Bengaluru to Hosur were operated as usual.

Similarly, the TNSTC suspended all its services to M. M. Hills in Chamrajnagara district in Karnataka from Mettur and Salem via Palar river border in Kolathur block since the early hours of the day. The TNSTC buses were operated upto Tamil Nadu border.The KSRTC buses from M. M. Hills too operated only upto their border.
